High-Order Non-Circular Helical Gear Designed Based on Conversion Method of Tooth Profile
This article proposes a new design method for high-order non-circular helical gears to address the problem of uneven tooth deviation caused by the non-coincidence of the pitch curve and helix line pro-jected onto the plane where the pitch curve is located due to the curvature changes of the non-circular gear pitch curve.Instead of using the helix line, the method utilizes the intersection curve of the involute helicoid and the pitch curve cylinder to design the gear teeth.By deducing and solving the intersection curve, the feasibility of this curve is proved.A pair of high-order non-circular Helical gears is taken as the research object, and the new design method is combined with the conversion method of tooth profile to establish a high-order non-circular helical gear model.Motion analysis and interference inspection are conducted, showing that the model runs well without interference problems. Therefore, the use of this method to design a pair of the non-circular gears is effective and feasible, which is of great significance for further research on their meshing stiffness.
