Research on Wear and Life of Magneto-Elastic Abrasive Particles in Double Disk Tool Passivation
Magneto-elastic abrasive particle is a new type of wear particle with the characteristics of both bonded and loose wear particles,and the study of its performance is very important.Therefore,in order to explore the wear law and service life of magneto-elastic abrasive particles in double disk tool passivating,the wear failure form of magneto-elastic abrasive particles is discussed through the force analysis,and the main factors affecting the life of magneto-elastic wear particles are obtained.Then,the magneto-elastic ab-rasive particles with different mass ratios and different abrasive phase types were prepared,and the passiva-tion experiment was carried out by using double-disk passivation equipment.The wear law of magneto-elas-tic abrasive particles and the change law of the surface roughness of the cutting edge were analyzed.At the same time,the X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS)and laser particle size analysis were performed on the magneto-elastic abrasive particles before and after passivation.The experimental results show that the abrasive phase of the magnetoelastic wear with alumina is mainly dull wear,and the abrasive phase of the diamond is mainly off-wear during passivation.Both types of magnetoelastic wear have the best service life when the mass ratio is 3∶1.
