The Effect of Gear Plate Error on Torsional Vibration Measurement and its Elimination Method
Torsional vibration testing is susceptible to measurement errors caused by gear machining and in-stallation inaccuracies, which can significantly impact the accuracy of test results. To address this issue, this paper presents a method for effectively eliminating the influence of gear errors on torsional vibration meas-urements.The proposed method improves the torsional vibration extraction algorithm based on the funda-mental principles of torsional vibration measurement. It also establishes an error mechanism model to ana-lyze the measurement errors resulting from uneven gear tooth spacing and installation eccentricity.Addition-ally,two error correction methods are introduced:one utilizes multi-cycle time-domain synchronous avera-ging to compensate for uneven gear tooth spacing errors, while the other employs high-pass filtering to cor-rect gear installation eccentricity errors. The validity of the theoretical derivations and the effectiveness of the error correction methods are verified through simulations and experiments. Finally, the developed tor-sional vibration extraction algorithm and error correction methods are integrated into a LabVIEW software package, enabling accurate and real-time measurement of torsional vibrations in rotating shaft systems.
