Diagnostic Significance of Serum PCT Combined with CRP Detection for Sepsis
Objective To explore diagnostic value of combined detection of serum procalcitonin(PCT)and C-reactive protein(CRP)for sepsis patients. Methods The paper chose 100 patients with sepsis admitted to our hospital from March 2022 to March 2023 as observation group, and 100 healthy individuals as control group at the same time, detected serum PCT with electrochemiluminescence analyzer, and serum CRP with fully automated biochemical analyzer.Sensitivity and specificity of serum PCT,CRP,and PCT+CRP in diagnosis of sepsis was compared. Results PCT level in observation group was(11.3±9.35)ng/mL,significantly higher than(0.02±0.01)ng/mL in control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).CRP level in observation group was(78.95±16.64)mg/L,significantly higher than(3.79±0.35)mg/L in control group, difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Based on PCT and CRP levels, sensitivity and specificity indicators for sepsis diagnosis was calculated. Results showed sensitivity and specificity of PCT,CRP,and PCT combined with CRP was 88%and 74%,93%and 37%,and 97%and 84%respectively in diagnosis of sepsis.Sensitivity and specificity of PCT combined with CRP was significantly higher than PCT and CRP only in diagnosis of sepsis, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Combined detection of serum PCT and CRP can improve specificity and sensitivity of sepsis diagnosis, and has higher diagnostic value than that individual test, which is worth promoting.
