Objective To explore application of kangaroo style nursing in newborns and its effect on mothers and newborns. Methods The paper chose 150 newborns delivered in our hospital from June 2021 to May 2022 as subjects prospectively, and divided them into control group and treatment group with random number table method, with 75 cases in each group.Control group was treated with routine nursing, including umbilical cord nursing, health care, routine warmth preservation, and vital sign monitoring, treatment group with kangaroo style care on the basis of routine nursing. After 30 days of intervention, body temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen saturation, sleep time of newborns, heart rate, body temperature, pure breastfeeding rate of mothers at 30 days postpartum, lactation volume, and growth and development of infants at 30 days of birth was compared between two groups. Results After 30 days of birth, body temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and sleep time in treatment group was lower than control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Blood oxygen saturation was higher than control group, difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 30 days of birth, there was no statistically significant difference in heart rate and body temperature between two groups of mothers(P>0.05).Pure breastfeeding rate and lactation volume of treatment group at 30 days postpartum was higher than control group, difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 30 days of birth, both groups of infants grew;height, weight, and head circumference in treatment group was significantly higher than control group, difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Kangaroo style nursing can stabilize vital signs of newborns and postpartum women in delivery of newborns, improve pure breastfeeding rate and lactation volume at 30 days postpartum, promote growth and development of infants, which is worthy of promotion and application.
