Analysis of Human T-lymphotropic Virus Infection in Zhanjiang City of Guangdong
Objective To understand infection status of human T-lymphotropic virus(HTLV)of blood donors in Zhanjiang City. Methods The paper detected 113304 samples of blood donors from March 1,2016 to February 28,2018 before cancellation of mutual aid blood donation and 36473 samples of blood donors from March 1,2018 to December 31,2018 after cancellation of mutual aid blood donation with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).ELISA positive samples were delivered to Guangzhou Blood Center for chemiluminescence detection and PCR confirmation testing. Results There were 77 positive for enzyme immunoassay among 113 304 specimens, including 17 positive for chemiluminescence and 7 positive for PCR.Out of 36473 specimens,16 were positive for enzyme immunoassay, including 3 positive for chemiluminescence and 1 positive for PCR.Positive rate of HTLV was 0.062 ‰ and 0.027‰ respectively.8 cases confirmed positive for HTLV were all from Zhanjiang City of Guangdong. Conclusion There is low prevalence of HTLV among blood donors in Zhanjiang City.
