Analysis of Coding Standards and Internationalization Trends for Mental Illness
Objective To analyze internationalization trend of mental illness coding standards and explore their effect in clinical practice.The paper systematically reviewed development process and trend of current international mental illness coding standards with method of literature review and analysis.Methods The paper collected literature on coding standards,including ICD-10,DSM-5,etc.,and used content analysis to compare and summarize changes of these standards in different versions.Results Coding standards for mental illness are gradually developing towards internationalization,difference of coding standards between different countries and regions are gradually decreasing.Meanwhile,with update of classification system for mental illnesses,new disease concepts and classifications have been incorporated,providing more accurate basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.Conclusion Specific details of some coding standards are controversial and may affect accuracy and precision of clinical diagnosis.Therefore,under background of internationalization,further standardized training and communication is particularly important to ensure consistency and accuracy of mental illness coding on a global scale.
