The Influence of Toe Defect on Foot Function was Evaluated by Gait Analysis
Objective To evaluate the effect of toe defect on foot function by gait analysis. Methods Based on adult foot samples, different models of metatarsal defect were made and divided into groups A,B,C,D,E and F.The plantar stress distribution was measured by universal biomechanical testing machine and F-scan plantar pressure insole sensor, and the image data of plantar stress distribution were obtained. Results The defects of metatarsal bone all caused changes in plantar pressure and balance.Except for groups D,E and F,the forefoot weight of the other three groups decreased(P<0.05),and the peak pressure in T1,M2 and M3 of group A was higher than that of healthy foot(P<0.05).The peak pressure in M1 and M2 area of group C was increased compared with that of healthy foot(P<0.05);The peak pressure in T1,M2 and M3-M4 regions of group D was increased compared with that of healthy foot(P<0.05);The peak pressure in T1 region of groups E and F was higher than that of healthy foot(P<0.05).Conclusion The defects of metatarsal bone all affect the foot function to some extent, but the defects of the first metatarsal bone, the second metatarsal bone and the multi-metatarsal bone most affect the distribution of the plantar center of gravity, and the clinical choice of finger reconstruction should be reserved.
