Comparative Analysis of the Efficacy of Laparoscopic and Open Surgery in the Treatment of Acute Appendicitis
Objective To compare the efficacy of laparoscopic surgery and open surgery in the treatment of acute appendicitis. Methods 180 patients with acute appendicitis admitted to the Department of General Surgery of our hospital from January 2021 to April 2023 were selected, and the enrolled patients were randomly divided into experimental group(n=90)and control group(n=90).The experimental group underwent laparoscopic appendectomy, while the control group underwent open appendectomy. The main observation indexes, such as operation duration, first postoperative exhaust time, antibacterial application duration, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative pain,as well as the incidence of postoperative complications such as incision infection, intestinal adhesion, abdominal abscess, etc.were recorded in the two groups. The postoperative efficacy of the two groups was compared after analysis. Results The operation time, first postoperative exhaust time, antibiotic application time and postoperative hospitalization time of experimental group were shorter than those of control group(P<0.05).The degree of postoperative pain was lower than control group(P<0.05);The total incidence of postoperative complications was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Laparoscopic appendectomy for patients with acute appendicitis can effectively shorten the duration of operation and hospital stay, reduce postoperative pain, restore gastrointestinal function earlier, lower complication rate and higher safety.
