Mechanism of Gut Microbiota in Pathogenesis and Treatment of Psoriatic Arthritis
Psoriasis arthritis is chronic inflammatory skin disease with autoimmune pathogenic characteristics,caused by chronic inflammation,with uncontrolled growth of keratinocytes and differentiation defects.Relationship between gut microbiota and immune system regulation opened up new perspective on pathogenesis of many chronic multifactorial diseases,including psoriatic arthritis.Current evidence suggested regulating gut microbiota through dietary method and supplementing probiotics and prebiotics might represent a new curative approach.The article reviews the latest scientific evidence on changes in gut microbiota of psoriasis patients,and the latest insights into gut microbiota targeted therapy for prevention and treatment of psoriatic arthritis.
