Effect of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Combined with Early Enteral Nutrition Nursing on Consciousness State and Nutritional Indicators of Coma Patients with Traumatic Brain Injury
Objective To investigate effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy combined with early enteral nutrition nursing on consciousness and nutritional indicators of comatose patients with traumatic brain injury. Methods The paper chose 86 comatose patients with traumatic brain injury admitted to our hospital from April 2021 to December 2022,and divided them into experimental group and control group with random number table method, with 43 cases in each group.Reference group was treated with routine treatment and routine nursing, while experimental group with hyperbaric oxygen therapy combined with early enteral nutrition nursing.Consciousness status, nutritional indicators, and life quality were compared between two groups. Results Before intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in CRS-R and PVS scores between two groups(P>0.05).After intervention,CRS-R scores(16.78±1.22)and PVS scores(15.37±0.46)in experimental group were higher than control group(P<0.05).Before intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in nutritional indicators of albumin, prealbumin, and transferrin between two groups(P>0.05).After intervention, experimental group showed higher levels of albumin(44.11±1.12)g/L,prealbumin(240.34±3.28)mg/L,and transferrin(2.78±0.21)g/L than control group(P<0.05).Before intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in various indicators of life quality between two groups(P>0.05).After intervention, life quality scores in experimental group were higher than control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Hyperbaric oxygen therapy combined with early enteral nutrition nursing can improve nutritional status of comatose patients with traumatic brain injury, supplement daily nutritional needs continuously, shorten coma time, improve prognosis, and enhance daily life quality of patients, which is worthy of promotion.
