Clinical Effect Evaluation of Sequential Therapy with Azithromycin for Children with Cough Caused By Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Infection at Preschool Age
Objective To explore clinical effect of sequential therapy with azithromycin in treatment of cough caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae(MP)infection in preschool children. Methods The paper chose 80 preschool children with cough caused by MP infection admitted to our hospital from October 2022 to May 2023,and divided them into control group and observation group randomly, with 40 cases in each group.Control group was treated with erythromycin treatment, while observation group with sequential treatment with azithromycin.Difference in cough scores, lung function, and inflammatory cytokine levels was compared between two groups before and after treatment, effect and safety of medication was evaluated.Relief time of each clinical symptom was recorded. Results Effective rates of two treatment groups were 75.00%and 92.50%respectively,that of observation group was higher than control group(P<0.05).Relief time of cough, wheezing, and lung rales in observation group was shorter than control group(P<0.05).After treatment, observation group had lower scores for daytime cough, nighttime cough, and total scores than control group(P<0.05).FEV1,FVC,FEV1/FVC,MVV,and PEF in observation group was higher than control group(P<0.05),and PCT,CRP,and EOS was lower than control group(P<0.05).Incidence of adverse reactions in two groups was 12.50%and 15.50%respectively,with no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion Sequential therapy with azithromycin can achieve significant effect for children with cough caused by MP infection, can alleviate cough symptoms, reduce body's inflammatory response, improve lung function effectively, with relatively high safe.
