Effect and Treatment Success Rate Analysis of Pre Crown and Resin Restoration for Extensive Caries in Primary Molars
Objective To compare effect and success rate of pre crown and resin restoration for extensive caries of primary molars. Methods The paper chose 140 children with extensive caries of primary molars and 286 primary molars met inclusion criteria in stomatology department of Zhongshan City Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 1,2021 to July 31,2022 as study subjects.According to needs of parents, group A was treated with pre formed cobalt chromium alloy crowns(hereinafter referred to as pre formed crowns)for primary molars, while group B was composite resin(hereinafter referred to as 3M resin)treatment.Curative effect at different times after treatment was evaluated, retention of dental materials, secondary caries, and overall treatment satisfaction were compared. Results At 3 and 6 months after treatment, total effective rate of treatment in group A was higher than group B,difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).At 3 months,6 months, and 12 months after treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in tooth material retention rates between group A and B(P>0.05).After 12 months of treatment, secondary caries rate in group A was significantly lower than group B,difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Overall satisfaction degree in group A was higher than group B(P<0.05).Conclusion Pre crown treatment can achieve better effect than resin restoration treatment for large area caries of primary molars, can improve success rate of treatment, reduce risk of secondary caries, which is worthy of widespread clinical application and promotion.
