Clinical Effect of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Treatment of Patients with Severe Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease at Acute Exacerbation Stage
Objective To observe effect of combined traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment on critically ill patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Methods The paper chose 60 severe AECOPD patients from January 2021 to December 2022 as study samples, and divided them into reference group and intervention group under the guidance of interval randomization, with 30 cases in each group, treated with routine Western medicine and combination of Chinese and Western medicine respectively.TCM symptom scores, lung function indicators, and blood gas indicators were compared and analyzed between the groups. Results There was no statistically significant difference in TCM symptom scores between two groups before treatment, with P>0.05.After treatment, those of intervention group were lower than control group, with statistical significance,P<0.05.There was no statistically significant difference in lung function indicators between two groups before treatment, with P>0.05.After treatment, intervention group had higher forced vital capacity(FVC),1-second forced expiratory volume(FEV1),maximum expiratory flow rate(PEF),and FEV1/FVC than control group, with statistical significance between two groups(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in blood gas analysis between two groups before treatment,P>0.05.After treatment, intervention group had lower arterial carbon dioxide partial pressure(PaCO2),higher arterial blood pressure partial pressure(PaO2),and higher pH values than control group, with statistical significance,P<0.05.Conclusion Modified perilla seed for descending qi and three kinds of seeds for the aged decoction can achieve significant curative effect for severe AECOPD patients based on routine Western medicine treatment, can improve symptoms, promote lung function recovery, and improve blood gas indicators effectively.,which is worthy of reference and application.
