Clinical Study on Percutaneous Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty(PKP)for Elderly Osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fractures
Objective To explore curative effect of percutaneous Vertebroplasty(PVP)and Kyphoplasty(PKP)for elderly patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. Methods The paper chose 60 patients with the disease in our hospital from May 2020 to December 2022 for data analysis, and divided them into two groups randomly:control and observation, with 30 cases in each group.Control group was treated with PVP treatment, while observation group with PKP treatment.Clinical treatment effect, anterior vertebral height, and Cobb angle of the injured vertebra was compared between two groups. Results Clinical treatment effect between two groups was compare, that of observation group and control group was 96.67%and 93.33%.There was no significant difference between two groups(P>0.05).Comparative analysis was carried out between anterior vertebral height and the Cobb angle of injured vertebra in observation group. At 7 and 30 days after treatment, anterior vertebral height in observation group was higher than control group, while Cobb angle of injured vertebra was smaller than control group(P<0.05).Conclusion PVP and PKP can achieve similar effect for elderly osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. However,PKP treatment can restore the anterior vertebral height and correct kyphotic deformities significantly, which is worthy of promotion and application in a large scale in clinical treatment plans.
