Effect of Chinese Herbal Tea Drink Combined with Folic Acid Tablets on Homocysteine in Patients with Homocysteine Hypertension Belonging to TCM Vertigo Disease with Hyperactive Liver Yang Type Homocysteine
Objective To investigate the effect of Chinese herbal tea drink combined with folic acid tablets on homocysteine(Hcy)in patients with high homocysteine hypertension belonging to the hyperactive liver-yang type of vertigo in Chinese medicine.Methods 100 cases of hyperhomocysteine hypertension patients belonging to TCM vertigo with hyperactive liver yang type treated at our TCM outpatient clinic from October 1,2019 to September 30,2021 were selected.100 patients were randomly divided into two groups:50 patients in the observation group(basic antihypertensive treatment combined with folic acid combined with Chinese medicine tea drink)and 50 patients in the control group(basic antihypertensive treatment combined with folic acid tablets),and the changes of TCM symptom scores,blood pressure and Hcy levels in both groups were observed after 6 months of continuous treatment.Results The TCM symptom scores of patients in both the observation and control groups decreased at 3 and 6 months post-treatment compared to pre-treatment,but the total TCM symptom scores were lower in the observation group at 3 months post-treatment and 6 months post-treatment compared to the control group(P<0.05);Systolic and diastolic blood pressure decreased in both observation and control group patients compared to pre-treatment,but the decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure values were lower in the observation group compared to the control group at 3 months after treatment and 6 months after treatment(P<0.05);Hcy levels decreased in both observation and control patients compared to pre-treatment,but the decrease in Hcy levels was lower in the observation group compared to the control group at 3 months post-treatment and 6 months post-treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Chinese herbal tea drink combined with folic acid tablets can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients with high homocysteine hypertension belonging to the TCM vertigo disease with hyperactivity of liver and yang,reduce the TCM symptom score,treat hypertension with definite effect,and reduce the serum Hcy level with controlled adverse effects.
