Objective To investigate effect of nursing interventions based on IMB theory model on compliance of patients with tonsillectomy with mouthwash behavior. Methods The paper chose 80 pediatric patients with tonsillectomy in otolaryngology head and neck surgery department of our hospital from March 2022 to March 2023,and divided them into control group and observation group with random number table method, with 40 cases in each group.Control group was treated with routine nursing, while observation group with nursing interventions based on the IMB theory model for one week on the basis of control group.Psychological status and mouthwash compliance was compared between two groups. Results After intervention, observation group had lower scores on the Self Rating Depression Scale and Screening Scale for Anxiety Disorders than control group.Good rate of mouthwash adherence was significantly higher in the day before discharge and one week after discharge than control group, and difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The nursing intervention method can improve compliance of children with oral hygiene significantly, and help them develop good oral health behaviors.
