Application of Dexmedetomidine Combined with Brachial Plexus Block Anesthesia for Elderly Patients with Humeral Fracture Surgery
Objective To study and analyze clinical effect of dexmedetomidine combined with brachial plexus block anesthesia for surgery of elderly humeral fractures. Methods The paper chose 50 elderly patients with humeral fractures with surgical treatment in our hospital from January 2022 to January 2023,and divided them into two groups evenly with random number table method, namely control group of 25 cases and study group of 25 cases.Control group was treated with brachial plexus block anesthesia guided by ultrasound, while study group was dexmedetomidine combined with brachial plexus block anesthesia guided by ultrasound.Perioperative hemodynamic indicators, nerve block effect, incidence of cardiovascular accidents, and awakening quality were observed between two groups, observation results were compared statistically between two groups. Results Study group had higher heart rate(HR)and mean arterial pressure(MAP)at 10 minutes after block(T1),30 minutes after block(T2),30 minutes after surgery(T3),and immediately after surgery(T4)than control group, with statistical difference between the groups(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in onset time of sensory and motor block between two groups(P>0.05).Study group had longer duration of sensory and motor block maintenance than control group, there was statistically significant difference between the groups(P<0.05).Study group had lower incidence of cardiovascular accidents, shorter open eye time, clenching time, and wake-up time than control group. There was statistically significant difference between the groups(P<0.05).Conclusion Dexmedetomidine combined with brachial plexus block anesthesia can achieve accurate clinical effect in surgery of elderly humeral fractures, can stabilize perioperative heart rate and blood pressure, reduce incidence of cardiovascular events, and improve recovery quality of patients.
