Effect of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Combined with Botulinum Toxin Therapy on Motor Function and Muscle Tone of Spastic Cerebral Palsy
Objective To analyze the effect of extracorporeal shock wave combined with botulinum toxin therapy on motor function and muscle tone of spastic cerebral palsy. Methods The paper chose 60 patients with spastic cerebral palsy in our hospital from May 2021 to April 2022,and divided them into the study group and the control group randomly, with 30 cases in each group. The study group was treated with extracorporeal shock wave combined with botulinum toxin treatment, while the control group with botulinum toxin only. The motor function, muscle tone, and daily living ability was compared between two groups after treatment. Results The assessment scores of limb spasticity in study group were significantly lower than the control group (P<0.05). The lower limb motor function scores and daily living ability of study group were significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Extracorporeal shock wave combined with botulinum toxin therapy can improve the motor function, muscle tone and daily living ability of patients with spastic cerebral palsy, which is worthy of clinical application.
