Objective To observe the effect of phacoemulsification surgery for concurrent cataracts after vitrectomy and explore the surgical techniques. Methods The paper reviewed and analyzed the effect and complications of phacoemulsification surgery for 57 cases of concurrent cataracts after vitrectomy from February 2020 to February 2021.Results Among the 57 cases, except for 2 cases without increase of postoperative visual acuity for fundus disease, the remaining 55 cases showed varying degrees of improvement in postoperative visual acuity. Two cases were treated with no implantation of artificial intraocular lenses due to atrophy of fundus function, one case with secondary implantation of artificial intraocular lenses, and the rest with primary implantation of artificial intraocular lenses for phacoemulsification surgery. The main postoperative complications were corneal edema of 28 cases, one week after treatment, cornea became transparent. There were 2 cases of exudation in anterior chamber, all of them were diabetes patients.2 weeks after treatment, the exudation was absorbed. Conclusion Phacoemulsification is difficult for complicated cataract after vitrectomy, which has many complications.Accurate preoperative measurement, full communication, intraoperative adjustment of perfusion pressure, careful operation, can achieve satisfactory postoperative vision of patients.
