Curative Effect of Theophylline Sustained-release Tablets Combined with Salbutamol Sulphate Aerosol on Elderly Patients with Acute Asthma
Objective To analyze clinical effect of theophylline sustained-release tablets and salbutamol sulphate aerosol in treatment of elderly patients with acute asthma in details. Methods The study period was from November 2021 to March 2023,80 elderly patients with acute asthma in our hospital were divided into the observation group (40 cases, treated with theophylline sustained-release tablets and salbutamol sulphate aerosol) and the control group (40 cases, with salbutamol sulphate aerosol only).Indicators were compared between two groups, including curative effect, adverse reactions,post-treatment lung function and arterial blood gas indicators, disease recovery time, and inflammatory factor levels. Results Total effective rate of the control group was lower than the observation group (P<0.05).Incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than the control group (P<0.05).FEV1,PaCO2,FEV1/FVC,and PaO2 indicators in the observation group were better than the control group (P<0.05).Length of stay and 50% reduction of asthma attacks in the observation group was shorter than the control group (P<0.05).After treatment, levels of IL-18,IL-4,and hs CRP in the observation group were lower than the control group, while IFN-γ level was higher than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Combination of theophylline sustained-release tablets and salbutamol sulphate aerosol can achieve significant curative effect on elderly patients with acute asthma, can reduce adverse reactions, improve inflammatory cytokine levels and lung function, promote recovery with high medication safety, which is worthy of promotion.
