Effect of Continuing Nursing on Postoperative Self-care Ability and Life Quality of Elderly Patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Objective To investigate the effect of continuous nursing on self-care ability and life quality of elderly patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).Methods The paper chose 62 elderly patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia in University of South China the Second Affiliated Hospital from January 2022 to January 2023,and divided them into the reference group and the experimental group with random number table method,with 32 cases in each group.The control group was treated with routine nursing,while the experimental group with continuous nursing.The urinary function,self-care ability,life quality,and satisfaction degree was compared between two groups.Results Before the nursing care,Clinical rehabilitation indicators in both groups (urinary residual volume,IPSS score,Qmax level) comparison,No significant difference (P>0.05);After the care,Reducurinary residual urine and IPSS scores in both groups,Moreover,the experimental group was lower than the reference group (P<0.05);The Qmax levels were increased in both groups,And the test group was higher than the reference group (P<0.05);Before the nursing care,compared groups of self-care ability (health knowledge,self-concept,self-care skills,self-responsibility),No significant difference (P>0.05);After the care,Excellent self-care ability in the test group (P<0.05),Before the nursing care,The quality of life (psychological state,physical health,relationship with the surrounding environment,social relationship,personal beliefs,independent ability) were scored in the two groups,No significant difference (P>0.05);After the care,The quality of life of the test group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05);The nursing satisfaction was high in the reference group (P<0.05).Conclusion Continuous nursing can improve the self-care ability and life quality of elderly BPH patients in postoperative nursing significantly,increase urinary function,and thereby enhance satisfaction with nursing of patients.
