Clinical Effect and Safety Analysis of Alginate Dressing in Treatment of Fingertip Defects
Objective To evaluate clinical effect and safety of alginate dressings in treatment of fingertip defects, and provide guidance for practical application. Methods The paper chose 70 patients with fingertip defects met indications for repair treatment for comparative analysis,With informed consent of patients, the paper divided them into two groups according to random number table method. Based on the same basic treatment for two groups, the control group (35 cases) was treated with proximal finger flap repair surgery, and the observation group (35 cases) with alginate dressings. Hand function and mobility was evaluated 6 months after surgery, recovery effect and complications were compared between two groups. Results Comparison of recovery rate of the control group (91.43%) and the observation group (94.28%) was not statistically significant,(P>0.05). The hand function scores, proximal finger joint range of motion, and distal finger joint range of motion of the control group were lower than observation group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Total complication rate of the control group (17.14%) was higher than the observation group (2.86%),with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion Clinical effect of alginate dressing in treatment of fingertip defects is similar to proximal finger flap repair surgery. However, alginate dressing can promote the recovery of hand function and mobility, reduce complications, with significant effect.
