Analysis of Exercise Function Levels and Influencing Factors of SMA Patients After SPINRAZA Modified Treatment
Objective To retrospectively analyze the exercise function levels of SMA patients in Yunnan after SPINRAZA modified therapy, and provide basis for improving exercise function of SMA patients. Methods The paper reviewed and analyzed data of 46 children with SMA with SPINRAZA modified therapy in Kunming Medical University the First Affiliated Hospital from January 2022 to January 2023,and compared characteristics and difference of prevalence history, demographic characteristics, clinical manifestations, complications,SMN genes, and exercise function levels of SMA after taking sodium nusinersen sodium of SMA children with different types. Results SMN2 gene copy number of SMA patients were higher than those with type Ⅰ SMA,while those with type Ⅲ SMA were higher than those with type Ⅱ SMA. Statistical analysis of different clinical phenotypes of SMA and SMN2 copy number showed P<0.05. Type Ⅱ patients had more complications, difference was significant compared with type Ⅰ and Ⅲ (P<0.05). After 4 times of medication, exercise function level of children improved significantly, difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Children with SMA have early onset, with difficulties for treatment for myasthenia, and nusinersen sodium has some certain curative effect on the disease.
