Objective To explore curative effect of polyvinyl alcohol eye drops in pterygium surgery and its practical role in early postoperative dry eye. Methods The paper chose 500 patients with pterygium surgery in our hospital from January 2022 to December 2022,and divided them into the routine group (odd numbered,250 cases,treated with routine therapy) and the intervention group (even numbered,250 cases,with polyvinyl alcohol eye drops) randomly. Clinical effective rate,satisfaction degree,ocular surface disease index,tear film breakup time,and clinical symptom scores were compared. Results Clinical effective rate in the routine group and the intervention group was 96％ and 99.2％ respectively,and satisfaction degree with curative effect was 96.4％ and 99.6％ respectively. BUT data of the intervention group were slightly higher than the control group. The OSDI scores and clinical symptom scores of the intervention group were relatively lower,there was statistically significant difference between the groups (P＜0.05). Conclusion Polyvinyl alcohol eye drops can achieve significant curative effect during pterygium surgery.
