Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Submental artery perforator flap(SMAPF)in repairing postoperative defects in elderly patients with oral cancer. Methods From January 2019 to January 2022,14 patients(aged≥80 years)with oral cancer undergoing defect repair with SMAPF were retrospectively analyzed. The 14 patients were discussed ina multidisciplinary team(MDT)during perioperative period. The results of 14 patients with oral cancer treated with SMAPF were summarized. Results The survival rate of 14 elderly patients with SMAPF was 92.9%.The preparation time of skin flap(including neck lymph node dissection)was 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 55 minutes, with an average of 2 hours 16 minutes.Perioperative complications occurred in 65.4%,and no death occurred. One patient was followed up with lung metastasis and two died of other diseases. Conclusion The application of perforator flap of submental artery to repair elderly patients with oral cancer has achieved good clinical results.
