10 Years since the Asian Sarcopenia Consensus:Evolution of the sarcopenia concept and research progress
The year 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the first edition of the consensus on sarcopenia published by the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia in 2014.Over the past decade,sarcopenia has garnered extensive attention,highlighted by the release of diagnostic cut-off values based on Asian data and the subsequent publication of the Delphi Consensus by the Global Leadership Initiative in Sarcopenia.This article offers a commentary on the ongoing evolution and expansion of the concept of sarcopenia since the publication of the Asian Consensus.It also explores the advancements made in sarcopenia research.Through a retrospective review and analysis,this article delineates the comprehensive landscape of sarcopenia research,providing a valuable reference for future studies.
