Treatment of cardiovascular disease in elderly patients with tumor
Cancer and cardiovascular disease are the primary causes of mortality among elderly individuals in China.Notably,cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of non-tumor-related fatalities in cancer patients,while tumors can also contribute to the development of cardiovascular conditions such as arteriosclerosis,arrhythmia,hypertension,thrombosis,and hemorrhage.There is an urgent need to enhance the comprehensive treatment strategies for tumor-related cardiovascular diseases in elderly patients.In clinical practice,it is essential to implement more proactive and effective treatments tailored to the type and severity of both cardiovascular disease and tumors in patients.This review primarily focuses on potential clinical treatment options for cardiovascular diseases induced by tumors or their treatments,with the objective of improving the quality of life for elderly cancer patients,considering the processes of tumor occurrence,development,and prognosis.
