Mutton is an important agricultural product to supplement the supply of meat in China.This paper analyzes the development of mutton sheep industry in Jiangsu Province in recent years from the perspectives of output,stock,output,price fluctuation trend and industrial structure.The study found that the mutton sheep industry in Jiangsu Province shows a large-scale development trend,but there are some problems such as low level of standardized scale breeding and loose industrial chain.In addition,mutton sheep breeding is also faced with external constraints of resources and environmental factors.Finally,the study provides some policy suggestions to promote the development of mutton sheep industry in Jiangsu Province.
