Leaf inclination angle and chlorophyll content are important phenotypic characteristics of corn.Based on the observation of leaf inclination angle and relative chlorophyll content(SPAD value)of spring corn in Hohhot City during different reproductive periods, the changes of leaf inclination angle and chlorophyll and their relationship were investigated,in order to provide theoretical basis for the monitoring of corn's growth and development status and production management. The study showed that the average leaf inclination angle of the whole corn plant and the leaf inclination angle of the same leaf position tended to decrease gradually with the advancement of the reproductive process;the leaf inclination angle of the plant in the early stage of growth and development showed an S-shaped curve with the increase of leaf position, while in the late stage of reproduction,it showed a single-peak curve.Chlorophyll content showed an increasing and then decreasing trend with the advancement of the reproductive period, and the same leaf chlorophyll content was highest at the tip of the leaf and changed to be highest in the middle of the leaf. The whole-plant leaf inclination angle and SPAD value changed from a negative phase in the early reproductive period to a positive correlation in the late reproductive period. The changes in leaf inclination angle, chlorophyll content and their relationship are in line with the characteristics of ideal plant canopy, reflecting the transformation of plant growth center and adaptation to changes in environmental conditions. The results of this study can be used to provide technical support for the assessment of corn's growth and development status, and to provide scientific basis for decision-making in agricultural production.
