President Xi Jinping wrote a letter to the representatives of outstanding teachers across the country,put forward the unique spirit of educators in China,affirmed the outstanding contributions made by teachers to the development of basic education,endowed teachers with a lofty mission in the new era,and pointed out the direction of progress and provided fundamental guidance for the training of directionally-trained normal college students from rural areas in the new era.As regards the training process of these students,there are difficulties such as lack of firm professional beliefs,urbanization of training concepts,and separation of training environment.Local application-oriented colleges and universities should actively implement measures such as publicity and mobilization,transformation of training concepts,optimization of professional curriculum settings,construction of a good training environment,and cultivation of the feelings about local places.
