With the rapid development of the information age,the field of education is undergoing unprecedented changes. As an important basic course in the field of life sciences, college plant physiology courses have always been designed closely around the national agricultural development strategy and industry needs in the field of biological sciences, and incorporate informatization elements to improve the quality and effectiveness of teaching. Although multimedia teaching and online teaching have been widely used, traditional lecture teaching still dominates and is difficult to stimulate students' interest and initiative in learning. With the continuous deepening of research on plant physiology, new research results and theories continue to emerge, but the knowledge of plant physiology textbooks cannot be updated in a timely manner. Therefore, the content of the textbooks lags behind and cannot re-flect the cutting-edge trends of the subject in a timely manner. This paper aims to discuss the problems faced by plant physiology curriculum design in colleges and universities in the context of the information age,the necessity of curriculum design reform,spe-cific implementation strategies and implementation effects,in order to provide reference for relevant educators.
