Determination of trace elements in Curcumae Radix from six growing areas and their principal components analysis
AIM To compare the contents of trace elements in Curcumae Radix gathered from six different growing areas,including Rui' an and Shaoxing District (Zhejiang Province),Meishan District (Sichuan Province),Yulin and Lingshan District (Guangxi Province),and Fuqing District (Fujian Province).METHODS ICP-OES method was used for the determination of ten trace elements,their data were analyzed by the principal components analysis in combination with SPSS statistical software.RESULTS The trace elements,namely Co、Fe、Mn、Pb、Tl、Zn、Cd、Ni,Ag and As,were found in Curcumae Radix.Analytic results showed that 95.66% of the contribution rate contributed to the four principal components (Co、Fe,Mn and Pb).CONCLUSION The comprehensive score of the four principal components showed Curcumae Radix collected from Rui' an District is superior to the others in quality,that from Fuqing District is the second,and the rest are of average quality.
