Chemical constituents from the n-hexane fraction of Baccharis trimera from Brazil and their in vitro anti-liver injury activities
AIM To study the chemical constituents from the n-hexane fraction of Baccharis trimera (Less.) DC from Brazil and their in vitro anti-liver injury activities.METHODS The chemical constituents and blood components were identified by GC-MS and LC-MS.The ethanol-induced LO2 cells were used to evaluate their anti-liver injury effects, and the cell survival rate and the levels of ROS,ALT,AST,GSH and GST were detected.RESULTS A total of54 compounds were isolated and identified from n-hexane fraction, including (-)-palustrol (8.55%),viridiflorol (6.83%),spathulenol (4.26%),and 7 prototype components such as caryophyllin and (-)-α-cubebene were identified from the drug-containing serum.Compared with the model group, the cell viability rate of drug-containing serum group was significantly increased (P<0.01),and the levels of ALT,AST and ROS were significantly decreased (P<0.01),and the levels of GST and GSH were significantly increased (P<0.05).CONCLUSION The n-hexane fraction from the Baccharis trimera has a certain in vitro antioxidant activity and hepatoprotective effects. It' s possible that sesquiterpenoids play a role in antioxidant activity.
