Effects of spraying quercetin on the growth and nut quality of Chinese chestnut
In order to investigate the effects of quercetin spraying on the growth and nut quality of Chinese chestnut, and to provide a scientific basis for the application of quercetin in Chinese chestnut production. The grafted 6-year-old'Yanshanzaofeng'Chinese chestnut tree was used as the test material, and quercetin was sprayed at different concentrations(0 μmol/L,150 μmol/L,300 μmol/L,600 μmol/L,1 200 μmol/L)in foliar spraying, with 500 mL of quercetin in a single plant,to investigate the effects on the resistance indexes of Chinese chestnut leaves, fruiting branch growth, yield and quality. The results showed that spraying 1 200 μmol/L quercetin significantly increased APX activity,CAT activity, soluble sugar content and protein content of Chinese chestnut leaves by 141.2%,75.3%,40.0%and 93.6%,respectively,compared with the control.Spraying quercetin could significantly reduce the rate of empty bracts of Chinese chestnut, but had no significant effect on the growth and yield of Chinese chestnut branches;quercetin mainly improved the soluble sugar and starch content of nuts, and the spraying of 1 200 μmol/L had the highest content of soluble sugar, which was 30.2%higher than that of the control, and the spraying of 600 μmol/L had the highest content of starch, which was 20.7%higher than that of the control.Through principal component analysis and affiliation function,it was concluded that spraying 1 200 μmol/L quercetin spraying was the optimal treatment.
