Effects of twelve insecticides on control and oviposition of Diaphorina citri
Diaphorina citri Kuwayama(Hemiptera:Liviidae)is one of the most important pests of citrus and chemical control is still the main method to control D.citri currently. There are many kinds of pesticides for controlling D.citri in the market. In order to carry out the control of D.citri scientifically and effectively,we used 36%Acetamiprid water dispersible granules,99%Mineral oil emulsifiable concentrate,50%Sulfoxaflor water dispersible granules,522.5 g/L Cypermethrin·Chlorpyrifos emulsifiable concentrate,10%Bifenthrin water emulsion,10%Nitenpyram water emulsion,60 g/L Ethyl Spinosad suspension,1.8%Avermectin emulsifiable concentrate,51.5%Chlorpyrifos emulsifiable concentrate,0.3%Matrine water emulsion,25%Thiamethoxam water dispersible granules and 20%Clothianidin suspension as materials to study the outdoor control effect and persistence of the eggs, nymphs and adults of D.citri,so as to screen out the pesticide with high efficiency. The results showed that 10%Nitenpyram water emulsion 2 000 times solution,1.8%Avermectin emulsifiable concentrate 1 000 times solution,60 g/L Ethyl Spinosad suspension 1 000 times solution and 50%Sulfoxaflor water dispersible granules 3 000 times solution had better control effects on nymphs and adults of D.citri under the netting stress, but the performance was worse in production practice. The control effects of 12 insecticides on eggs was 0.1%~1 1.6%on the 5th days, and on nymphs was 97.2%~99.7%on the 7th days.Adults died after one day of direct contact with the insecticides. If the adults escape, with the passage of time, the control effect of the insecticides on the adults decreased rapidly. The adults lay eggs on the citrus trees within 2 days in the early stage and 4 h in the peak period,at which time the amount of eggs in each treatment was lower than that in the control group.Meantime some of the eggs can hatch and develop into adults. Therefore, the key point of control is to control the adults of D.citri.
