Detection and analysis of polyphenol components and content in 27Malusgermplasms from Xinjiang
Using ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS),the polyphenol components and content in the fruit peel and flesh of 27 apple germplasm resources from Xinjiang of China were determined. The differences in polyphenol components and content characteristics of apple germplasm resources in Xinjiang were studied, and cluster analysis on them was conducted. The results showed that, except Shilubian 3,the total phenolic content in the peel of all 26 apple germplasm resources was higher than that in the flesh.Five types of polyphenols were detected in both the fruit peel and flesh, but the number of polyphenol components in the peel and flesh was different, with 15 components in the peel and 14 components in the flesh.Rutin was not detected in the flesh. The polyphenol components in the peel were mainly epicatechin and phloridzin, and epicatechin and chlorogenic acid were the main polyphenol components in the flesh. The polyphenol content of landraces was not specific, and the diversity of wild resources was rich. The results of cluster analysis showed that all tested landraces and 4 wild germplasms in Xinjiang were clustered into one group, while the remaining wild germplasms were clustered into 4 groups.3024 was screened out as an excellent germplasm resource with the highest total phenolic content. The results of this study provided theoretical basis for the genetic background research of Xinjiang apple germplasm resources, and basic materials for the utilization of fruit polyphenols and the breeding of apple cultivars with high polyphenols.
