Effects of foliar spraying of organic selenium on selenium content and fruit quality of seedless wampee
This study explored the effects of foliar spraying of organic selenium fertilizer on the selenium content and overall quality of seedless wampee with the aim to providing a reference and theoretical basis for the production of selenium-rich seedless wampee.Seedless wampee was used as the experimental material, selected organic selenium fertilizer with the concentration of 1 mg/L,10 mg/L,50 mg/L,100 mg/L,500 mg/L as the treatment groups, and equal amounts of water and nano-selenium nutrient solution spraying treatment as the negative and postitive control group respectively. The results showed that spraying organic selenium fertilizer on the leaves could increase the selenium content in the seedless wampee pericarp and whole fruit, and the effects was significant with the increase of selenium concentration.Spraying organic selenium can effectively improve the color difference value of the peel, with the best effect at 100 mg/L.In addition, foliar spraying of organic selenium can also significantly increase the content of soluble solids, titratable acid, and vitamin C content in seedless wampee fruits. The comprehensive evaluation scores obtained through principal component analysis showed that the scores of the organic selenium spraying treatment groups were higher than those of the water treatment group, and the scores of the organic selenium spraying treatment groups with different concentrations were ranked from high to low as follows:100 mg/L>500 mg/L>50 mg/L>10 mg/L>1 mg/L.Therefore,a comprehensive analysis found that spraying 100 mg/L of organic selenium fertilizer on the leaves of seedless wampee trees was the most effective way to increase the selenium content in the fruit, improve the color of the fruit skin, and improve the internal quality of the fruit.
