Effects of 60Co-γ irradiation on seed germination and seedling growth of pomegranate
The seeds of Tunisia soft seed were irradiated with 100 Gy,200 Gy,300 Gy and 400 Gy by 60Co-γ irradiation, and the effects of irradiation on seed germination, seedling growth and leaf physiology and biochemistry were analyzed. The results showed that 60Co-γ irradiation inhibited seed germination and seedling growth, and the greater the dose, the stronger the inhibition effect was.Low dose(≤300 Gy)60Co-γ irradiation inhibited the accumulation of soluble sugar in seedling leaves, while high dose(>300 Gy)60Co-γ irradiation promoted the accumulation of soluble sugar in seedling leaves. The contents of soluble protein and chlorophyll in leaves of seedlings were increased by irradiation with 60Co-γ irradiation, and the contents of soluble protein and chlorophyll were increased most at 200 Gy.The optimal radiation dose range of pomegranate seeds was 268.22~322.54 Gy.
