Research on the Impact of Smart City Construction on Supply Chain Efficiency
The construction of smart cities has become an important driving force for promoting high-quality economic development. To gain a deeper understanding of the impact of smart cities on supply chain efficiency, based on the gradual implementation of smart city construction in China,a progressive difference-in-differences(DID)model was adopted to analyze the impact of smart city construction on enterprise supply chain efficiency. The empirical analysis results show that the construction of smart cities has significantly improved supply chain efficiency, especially in capital-intensive and technology-intensive enterprises and the eastern China.Mechanism testing shows that the construction of smart cities has improved the utilization level of enterprise data elements.Based on these findings, this paper proposes some targeted suggestions to promote the improvement of supply chain efficiency. This study not only provides empirical support for the construction of smart cities, but also provides strong policy basis for policymakers in designing future urban development strategies, especially in promoting supply chain efficiency improvement and coordinated development of regional economies.
