Advances in Prevention and Control Techniques for Canine Parvovirus Disease
Canine parvovirus infection can cause typical acute gastroenteritis symptoms,including vomiting,fever,significant leukopenia and bloody diarrhea.It is often co-infected with canine distemper and canine coronavirus.Despite widespread vaccination,it remains a leading cause of death in dogs,with mortality rates often greater than 70%in young dogs.In this paper,the research progress of prevention and control technology for canine parvovirus disease were reviewed,including the characteristics of various CPV vaccines,their practical use,and the the reasons for the failure of immunization.Meanwhile,main diagnostic methods and technical progress made in recent years were also introduced to provide reference for the immunization,diagnosis,prevention and control of canine parvovirus disease.
