Petroleum Asphalt Modified Polyurethane Coatings and Damping Properties
This article introduces petroleum asphalt as filler into polyurethane coatings and explores the effect of petroleum asphalt on the damping performance of polyurethane coatings through relevant testing and characterization.Tests have found that as the amount of petroleum asphalt added increases, the storage modulus, loss modulus, and loss factor of the material show a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. When the amount of petroleum asphalt added is 6%(wt%,the same below),the storage modulus and loss modulus are improved, and the peak value of the loss factor reaches a maximum of 0.94.The addition of petroleum asphalt improves the mechanical properties of polyurethane coatings. When the amount of petroleum asphalt added is 6%,the tensile strength reaches 7.81 MPa,which is 1.44 times that of pure polyurethane coatings;the elongation at break reaches 535.0%,which is 1.28 times that of pure polyurethane coatings.
