Weights measurement of the influence of cotton fiber properties on yarn evenness and hairiness based on small sample spinning
Cotton fiber samples of 41 markers were collected, and six performance indexes, namely, length, micronaire value, length uniformity, breaking strength, ginning quality and color grade, were tested by high volume instrument"HVI".These fibers were spun into 32sgrey fabric yarns under the same process settings and test the yarnevenness and hairiness quality.Trend analysis was used to investigate the relationship between the performance of cotton fiber and the quality of the yam,and screen out the indicators with significant influence. The selected cotton fiber performance indicators were used to construct the weighting model of their influence on yarn evenness and hairiness using the grey correlation method. The analysis shows that the greatest influence on yam evenness is length unifor-mity,accounting for 22.38%,and the greatest influence on yam hairiness is also length neatness, accounting for 23.24%.
