Determination of sulfate and other anions in denim clothing by ion chromatography
Vulcanized dyes are commonly used to dye fabrics containing cotton,recycled cellulose fibers,and cotton/polyester blends,which are widely used in denim clothing.However,there is still a lack of methods for the determination of sulfate ions in denim clothing.In this study,simple ultrasonic extraction,solid phase extraction and purification combined with ion chromatogra-phy were used to determine sulfates and other anions in denim clothing.The limit of quantification of 6 anions was 1.25 mg/kg.The recovery rate was in the range of 95.7％～116.4％,and the relative standard deviation was in the range of 2.9％～7.9％,which can meet the requirements of daily detection.On this basis,the changes of sulfate ion content and tearing strength in jeans dyed with sulphide dye and jeans with embrittlement were studied.The experimental results are in agreement with the expectation.
