In order to clarify the difficulties and breakthroughs of Chinese cashmere industry in the context of sustainable devel-opment to further improve its sustainability,the historical changes and development status of Chinese cashmere industry were reviewed.The difficulties and challenges faced by Chinese cashmere industry in terms of economic sustainability and ecological sustainability and innovations made in China in recent years to address sustainable development issues were analyzed in detail.Finally,the review pointed out that enhancing the influence of domestic cashmere brands and upgrading the cashmere production and processing industry would be the significant future development directions for the cashmere industry in China.
