Study on the influence of climate change on cotton quality during cotton growing period in Hami region
Cotton is an important agricultural and economic crop in the Hami region. With global warming, the emergence of extreme weather has brought uncertainty to the quality of cotton.By analyzing meteorological data and cotton quality parameters in the Hami region from 2014 to 2023,the Pearson correlation coefficient was used to evaluate the correlation between cotton quality and meteorological conditions. The results showed that cotton bud stage requires sufficient heat to ensure its own growth.Excessive sunshine hours in the Hami region have a negative impact on cotton quality. The number of days in the frost free period is positively correlated with cotton quality. The effective accumulated temperature is positively correlated with the average length, micronaire value A+B,fracture ratio intensity, and cotton color level. The number of days at or above 35 ℃ is positively correlated with the average length and fracture ratio intensity, and negatively correlated with length uniformity and cotton color level.
