At midnight on December 18,2023,a M6.2 earthquake occurred in Jishishan County,Linxia Prefecture,Gansu Province,China. The earthquake caused serious casualties, buildings and infrastructure losses in the disaster area. The earthquake caused 151 deaths and missing persons, which is a typical"moderate earthquake disaster"relative to its magnitude. In this thesis, the characteristics of seismotectonics and focal ruptures in the Jishishan earthquake area, the distribution of population and buildings, and their effects on the seismic capacity are preliminarily analyzed,as well as the role of secondary geological disasters caused by earthquakes, the influence of geographical and meteorological environment, the time and season of earthquake occurrence on the aggravation of the earthquake disaster. The results are helpful to carry out the study of comprehensive multi-factor earthquake disaster loss assessment method and improve accuracy of earthquake loss assessment, improving effect of emergency response after earthquake.
