On January 1,2024,Noto Peninsula,Japan,was hit by an M7.6 earthquake,which caused a large number of casualties and serious economic losses.Earthquakes triggered tsunamis,nuclear power plant accidents and a large number of landslides,rolling stones,collapses and other geological disasters while communications,roads,electricity,water conservancy and other infrastructure have been damaged to varying degrees.From aspects of crustal changes,duration of disaster relief,secondary disasters,disaster relief accidents,destruction of infrastructure and shelters,the disaster characteristics of the earthquake are summarized,and the emergency response in Japan is discussed in this thesis.Finally,Suggestions on China's response to major earthquake catastrophes are put forwardfrom three aspects,namely improving the seismic capacity of buildings,strengthening the earthquake risk prevention and preparing for the earthquake catastrophe prevention and response.
