Optimization and practice of pathology specimen management processes based on closed-loop theory
Objective:This study applied closed-loop theory to construct pathology specimen management processes in a large Grade Ⅲ Level A Hospital, ensuring accurate, effective, and timely specimen submission while reducing medical safety risks. The case hospital enhanced organizational management, established robust management systems, and used the closed-loop model to provide organizational support for process optimization.A comprehensive closed-loop traceability mechanism was implemented, combining foundational quality control, procedural quality control, and final quality control.Following the implementation of closed-loop management, the on-time submission rate of surgical pathology specimens increased to 99.28%,the incidence of adverse events related to pathology specimens decreased to 0.003‰,and the notification rate for abnormal pathology reports reached 100%(P<0.01).The pathology specimen management process developed by the case hospital facilitates comprehensive traceability and dynamic management of specimens, effectively ensuring medical quality and patient safety.
