This study focuses on Liangzhou Xianxiao,an art form recognized in the inaugural roster of China's national intangible cultural heritage,to explore its genesis and evolution.Through an analytical lens encompassing cultural ideology,transmission mediums,and distinctive vocal features,this paper argues that a confluence of factors contributes to the emergence of Liangzhou Xianxiao.These factors include the deeply ingrained values of loyalty and filial piety,a consistent community of visually impaired singers,the use of the Liangzhou dialect,and the spontaneous creativity manifested during performances.Each element plays a crucial role,culminating in the unique expression of Liangzhou Xianxiao under their collective influence.Amidst the current cultural shifts and the transformation of heritage transmission methods,the paper also contemplates the future trajectory of Liangzhou Xianxiao.It probes into how it might undergo a renaissance,align with contemporary values,and assume a new cultural mission within the framework of China's evolving socialist culture.This process demands collaborative engagement from artists,cultural administrators,and scholars alike.
